Administrative history

With the great increase of experimental information on high-energy reactions, many physicists felt the need for a systematic compilation of these data. A few people in Europe who were interested in reaction properties set up the HERA (High Energy Reactions Analysis) group to try to systematize individual efforts in this field, using all the facilities of computer methods.

The group, led by D.R.O. Morrison, stayed in close contact with the Berkeley Particle Data Group (PDG), which was also undertaking similar extensive compilations beginning with K+N reactions.
